This trial tests talazoparib in metastatic breast cancer with a tumour-only BRCA mutation. It is recruiting, but is not an after-surgery recurrence-prevention study.
The registry lists NCT03990896 as recruiting, last updated 2026-05-06, with 30 planned participants. The live inclusion criteria require a deleterious somatic BRCA1/2 mutation detectable in circulating DNA by a CLIA-certified clinical assay, subject to investigator discretion. TNBC requires progression on at least one chemotherapy regimen in the metastatic setting; hormone-receptor-positive disease requires prior endocrine progression or unsuitability. Evaluable or measurable disease, no prior PARP inhibitor and no concurrent anticancer therapy are required. Prior platinum is permitted only without progression on platinum or within six months after neoadjuvant/adjuvant platinum. UCSF and six other US sites are listed recruiting; this does not confirm a site slot. Older trial-in-progress material mentions tissue-or-cfDNA genotyping, so tissue-only eligibility needs investigator confirmation rather than assuming the current registry gate is broader. No registry results are posted; that does not exclude separate publications.
The full inclusion and exclusion criteria are on the registry record. Read 2026-10-07. Recruiting overall does not mean a particular site is open; ask the study team.
